SONIC YOUTH

I went to see Sonic Youth play at the Prospect Park bandshell last night with Kim, Sara and Millie. Sonic Youth has always played a large roll in my life. Not actually, but in my subconscious. When I first moved to New York and was hanging out in front of CBGB, you'd occasionally see members of the band. If one of them happened to acknowledge you, it could make or break your night. It was a lot like high school--Kim was the head cheerleader and Thurston was the captain of the football team. Twenty years later, that feeling is still there. The other day I ran into Kim, she said she liked my sneakers. It made my day.
