Mott was out of town, so Sara invited Kevin D. and I out to Oyster Bay. We tried to fill his husband/father shoes for a couple of days. Sara made us Thai iced teas with rum while we grilled pork chops with improvised peanut sauce (peanut butter, soy sauce, honey, garlic, red pepper) and arugula for lunch. A bunch of kids and moms (including a former super-model!) came for dinner. Kevin D. and I made grilled flank steak with Vidalia onions, Greek salad, and potatoes with butter and salt. Between shopping, cooking, cleaning, picking up, dropping off, braces hurting, kids fighting, putting stuff together, finding lost things and entertaining... parenting is hard, even for 24 hours.
