RED MEDICINE

Corey and I had lunch at Red Medicine, a new Vietnamese-style place that Stacy recommended. We started with the chicken dumplings, which came on this cool plate. You assemble them yourself and wrap it in a perfect butter lettuce leaf. We split the pork belly banh mi and the chicken salad.

The highlight of the meal was this weird dessert. Our server encouraged us to order it even though we weren't interested. It's layered with condensed milk, coconut cream, peanut and chocolate croquant (I googled it, it means crunchy in French), coffee ice cream, thai basil leaves, pods and gel. It was like a delicious, edible terrarium.
