A16

I've got to expand my horizons. Here I am in San Francisco and I end up eating pretty much exactly what I always eat... pizza. Don't get me wrong, A16 is a really good restaurant but shouldn't I be trying some new things? Matt, Cheify and I hadn't hung out together in a long time so it was great to catch up with these two guys over some delicious wine and dinner.

Tuna with fennel, potatoes and treviso... this would be a quick and easy thing to make at home (using fancy Italian canned tuna)

Roasted Fava beans-this is a nice way to make favas so you don't have to go through the hassle of de-shelling and peeling them. I'm going to try this at home.

Gnocci with English peas. I've never made gnocci but I'd like to give it a shot, it seems very hard to make them light.

This is Marc's favorite pizza in the world, the Romana. The sauce, olives and chiles are you need. Matt recently installed an Italian pizza oven in his backyard (with assistance by Marc). I'm jealous of that, if I had a backyard I'd have a pizza oven and an herb garden. Someday.

  1. Whoa! I just found out about your blog. Exciting and I even get a mention. Fantastic! I do love that pizza. That one looks especially delicious. I love all your "very San Francisco-y" things. I'm going to Delancey and then to see LCD Soundsystem tonight. I think that's very "Los Angeles-y"
